An innovative event that gives communities a prominent role

Nergica is thrilled to announce the upcoming event and the lineup for the A Look at Microgrids and the Energy Transition in Local Communitieswhich will take place in the enchanting setting of the Magdalen Islands from September 12 to 14. This event, presented in collaboration with the Maritime Community of the Îles-de-la-Madeleine, will be a unique opportunity to bring together numerous stakeholders and take stock of the current situation regarding the energy transition.

Highlights

  • This event will provide an update on the current state of the energy transition. It will offer a pragmatic overview of achievements to date and the challenges associated with integrating renewable energy in island and remote communities.
  • Participants will be able to familiarize themselves with in situ during three industrial site visits, focusing on issues related to energy supply on islands.
  • Mr. Éric Fillion, President of Hydro-Québec Distribution; Ms. Johanne Gélinas, President and CEO, Transition énergétique Québec, Jonathan Lapierre, mayor of the Maritime Community of the Îles-de-la-Madeleine, and Ms. Julie Morin, mayor of Lac-Mégantic, are among the speakers at the event.
  • Residents of the Islands are invited to attend the opening night, which will feature a cocktail reception with an exhibitor fair, followed by three presentations on the role of local governments in the implementation of microgrids, concluding with a roundtable discussion.
