This Thursday September 30, 2021 marks the very first National Day of Truth and Reconciliation. To provide our employees, clients, and partners with an opportunity for reflection and remembrance, Nergica joins Canadians in declaring September 30 a day off.
This important day serves to commemorate the tragic history of residential schools and to honor the missing children and survivors of residential schools, as well as their families and communities.
Committed to the values of equity, inclusion, and accessibility, Nergica remains steadfast in its commitment to establishing and maintaining strong, sincere relationships with Indigenous communities. For several years now, through its renewable energy projects, the company has supported these communities’ desire for economic and social empowerment.
“National Truth and Reconciliation Day is an opportunity to reflect on and commemorate a dark chapter in our country’s history and to ensure we do not forget the lasting effects of residential schools. “We recognize the importance of this holiday and reaffirm our support for Indigenous communities,” said Frédéric Côté, CEO of Nergica.
Nergica encourages its employees and partners to participate, in their own way, in activities of remembrance, reflection, and learning to promote reconciliation with Indigenous peoples.
