Nergica is participating in Green Economy Week

May 10, 2021

Nergica and the Quebec Association for Renewable Energy Production (AQPER) will present their vision of the role of solar photovoltaic energy in Quebec’s energy transition as part of Green Economy Week, which takes place May 17–21.

Launched by Écotech Québec in 2021,Green Economy Week is positioning itself as a must-attend annual event aimed at accelerating the positive transformation of the economy through innovation.

TheGreen Economy Weekis a unique and inclusive initiative that brings together the activities of a wide range of organizations committed to accelerating the transformation of Quebec’s economy to make it more resilient, combat climate change more effectively, reduce its environmental footprint, and protect natural resources.

Thursday, May 20, at 15 h, our colleague Karim Belmokhtar and AQPER CEO Gabriel Durany will shed light on the potential of solar photovoltaic energy in Quebec. How can this energy source contribute to Quebec’s energy and economic development? What are the challenges and opportunities associated with the expansion of Quebec’s solar PV sector?

To address these questions, AQPER will first present its 2030 roadmap for solar PV, and Nergica will share the key findings, conclusions, and recommendations from its study, “Solar PV in Quebec’s Energy Mix: Analysis and Outlook.”

On the agenda:

  • Presentation of AQPER's solar photovoltaic roadmap by Gabriel Durany, President and CEO, Quebec Renewable Energy Production Association (AQPER) (15 minutes)
  • Presentation of the Nergica study "L'énergie solaire PV dans le mix énergétique québécois - Analyse et perspectives" by Karim Belmokhtar, Senior Project Manager, Research and Innovation, Nergica (20 minutes)
  • Question Period (25 minutes)
