Nergica celebrates excellence in the renewable energy industry at the Gala Reconnaissance 2025

GASPÉ, June 4, 2025 – Between June 2 and June 4, 2025, Beaupré became a hub for energy transition experts from all walks of life, welcoming nearly 250 participants to Nergica’s Renewable Energy Conference and Gala. On June 3, Nergica celebrated the excellence of organizations and individuals in the renewable energy sector at the Recognition Gala, a flagship event held as part of the 16th Renewable Energy Conference, presented for the first time in Beaupré. This awards ceremony aims to recognize the initiatives, projects, and individuals who have particularly distinguished themselves within Quebec’s renewable energy industry, highlighting the expertise of our ecosystem and the exceptional work of those who make it shine.

2025 Winners of the Renewable Energy Recognition Gala:

• Best Renewable Energy Project: Invenergy and the Eastern Energy Alliance – Pohénégamook–Picard–St-Antonin–Wolastokouk Wind Project (PPAW)

• Workforce Development: Cégep de la Gaspésie et des Îles – Level 1 Technical Training Program in Wind Turbine Maintenance

• Innovation: Techéol – Development of a UV-curable resin

• Community Energy Initiative: Mi’gmawei Mawiomi Business Corporation – Mesgi’g Ugju’s’n (MU) Wind Farm and MU2 Expansion

• Rising Star (new category for 2025): o Marie-Pierre Boudreau, attorney, FASKEN o Jordan Longchamps, senior advisor, Public Affairs and Communications, Boralex

• Person of the Year: Julie Belley Perron, Esq., Partner—Business and Environmental Law, McCarthy Tétrault, and Patrick Goulet, President, Énergie solaire Québec

The Energy of the Next Generation

To recognize the ambitious young talent shaping Quebec’s energy future, the gala has added a new category to its awards ceremony: Rising Star of the Year. As a college-level technology transfer center, Nergica is proud of its contribution to training the rising stars of tomorrow.
