Le projet

This project involved integrating blade inspection and repair databases to establish the link between telescope inspections and subsequent repairs.

Three recommendations were made. Firstly, the defect classification language needs to be standardized to facilitate the link between inspections and repairs. Secondly, the addition (by the blade manufacturer, turbine manufacturer, etc.) of metadata for each defect is essential to enable more detailed analysis. Finally, standardized file names and directories would facilitate access for users or software.

Highlights

This project has created an integrated database linking telescope inspection results to repairs carried out on wind turbine blades, laying the foundations for rigorous analysis of asset condition. The work led to the identification of concrete avenues for improvement, notably in terms of data standardization, in order to maximize the analytical value of the information collected.

  • Integration of over 300 faults reported during repairs, and over 2,000 faults identified during telescope inspections.

  • Two partners: Quebec SMEs.
