Biome Feather Pilot at Nergica

The Project

• Nergica recently installed Biome Renewables’ FeatherEdge® technology on one of its wind turbines located at its research site.
• Inspired by the owl’s silent flight, FeatherEdge® wind turbine blade serration technology makes the movement of wind turbine blades even quieter. This brand-new innovation is based on the phase interference technique.
• Research project goal: to measure the noise reduction following the installation of the FeatherEdge® and to optimize the wind turbine controller to achieve performance gains while validating the mechanical loads experienced by the wind turbine.
• This advancement was made possible through a collaboration between Biome Renewables, Techeol and Nergica.
