National Day of Truth and Reconciliation observed at Nergica

This Thursday, September 30, 2021 marks the first ever National Day of Truth and Reconciliation. To provide employees, customers and partners with a time of reflection and remembrance, Nergica joins Canadians in declaring September 30th a national day.

This important day commemorates the tragic history of residential schools and honours the missing children and survivors of residential schools, their families and their communities.

Nergica is committed to the values of equity, inclusion and accessibility, and remains steadfast in its commitment to building and maintaining strong and meaningful relationships with Indigenous communities. For many years, our organization has been accompanying communities in their renewable energy projects, in support of their desire for economic and social emancipation.

“The National Day of Truth and Reconciliation is an opportunity to reflect on and commemorate a dark legacy of our country and to remember the legacy of residential schools. We recognize the importance of this national day and of reiterating our support for Indigenous communities,” said Frédéric Côté, Nergica’s Executive Director.

Nergica encourages its employees and partners to participate, in their own way, in commemoration, reflection and learning activities to foster reconciliation with Indigenous peoples.
